Iraq, Algeria condemn Israeli aggression on Iranian consulate in Damascus

Baghdad, Algeirs, SANA- Iraq renewed its condemnation of Israeli aggression on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, describing it as an offence.

During a phone call on Wednesday with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, al-Sudani expressed his sincere condolences from the government and people of Iraq to the victims of the Zionist aggression on the consulate building and his strong condemnation of this sinful aggression, the office of Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said in a statement.

Al-Sudani noted to the depth of the bilateral relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran and the importance of working to strengthen them in the interest of the two friendly peoples.

In turn, Algeria strongly condemned the Zionist aggression on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, as it constitutes a violation of international norms and a blatant violation on Syria’s sovereignty.

Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Algeria expresses its strong condemnation of this criminal act, which is a flagrant violation of international laws and norms concerned with the sanctity of diplomatic and consular missions, in addition to being a serious infringement on the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Algeria expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, and renewed its full solidarity with Iran and Syria.
