Guterres: Palestinians’ right to build their independent state must be recognized by all

New York, SANA- United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres criticized on Tuesday the Israeli occupation authorities’ rejection of establishing a Palestinian state deeming this rejection “unacceptable and could only prolong conflict.”

“The Israeli occupation must be put to an end,” Guterres said, reiterating the call for “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire,” AFP quoted Guterres as saying in an intervention during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

The UN diplomat reiterated the call for an “immediate humanitarian cease fire.”

Guterres stressed that the Israeli occupation authorities’ repeated rejection of the solution based on the establishment of a Palestinian state, and their denial of the right of the Palestinian people to have their own state, is “unacceptable” and would constitute a grave danger to international peace and security.

“The right of the Palestinian people to build their own state must be recognized by all,” Guterres said, adding that it is the only way to achieve peace.
