WHO: Emergency department at al-Shifa hospital ‘a blood bath’

Geneva, SANA-The World Health Organization confirmed that the emergency department at al-shifa medical complex in Gaza has turned into a “bloodbath” and needs to resuscitation after being severely damaged by the Israeli occupation’s bombing as part of its ongoing aggression against the Strip for the 72nd day.

A team from the WHO and other United Nations agencies yesterday delivered medical supplies to al-Shifa hospital, as tens of thousands of displaced people took refuge there while the complex lacks water and food, Palestinian Wafa Agency quoted the organization as saying in a statement.

The WHO said that the team who visited the hospital described the emergency services as a bloodbath, with hundreds of sick and injured people inside it.

The entire health infrastructure in Gaza Strip was severely damaged as a result of the ongoing occupation aggression since the 7th of last October, as 22 hospitals and 53 health centers were out of service as a result of the occupation’s bombing or the exhaustion of medical supplies and fuel.
