Another Hell in Gaza; Surgical operations are performed without anesthetization

Occupied Jerusalem, SANA- Surgical operations are being performed without anesthesia, including amputation of limbs. A doctor falls in tears after the death of a child in his hands from the intensity of pain during one of these operations. Even treatment in Gaza is carried out with more pain, in light of the Israeli occupation’s continued aggression, its stifling siege of the Gaza Strip, and its prevention of the entry of medical supplies, in particular, anesthetics.

Thousands of surgical operations were performed without anesthesia in hospitals of Gaza Strip, especially in the north, which was confirmed by the World Health Organization through its spokesman Christian Lindmeier, saying: “The wounded in Gaza are undergoing amputations without anesthesia. I do not know the percentage. It could be 10 or 20 percent of these operations, even if this happened once, it is unacceptable,” indicating that there is a shortage of anesthesia and other medications in Gaza, and hospitals are overcrowded, making it difficult for thousands of wounded to obtain medical care.

The United Nations Population Fund also revealed that pregnant women in Gaza undergo birth operations without anesthesia, which poses a threat to their lives, stressing the need for a ceasefire and ensuring their access to proper maternity services.

“Action Aid” International organization said that doctors in Gaza Strip spare no effort , despite difficulties, to support pregnant women, and are working to fulfill their operations in al-Awda Hospital, the only hospital that can operate in northern Gaza, as all other hospitals in the region being out of service as a result of the occupation’s bombing and the depletion of fuel and materials.
