Damascus, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad received a cable of condolence from Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on the martyrs of the terrorist attack that targeted graduation ceremony of the Military academy cadets in Homs.

President Raisi said in his cable that Iran, the government and people, feel sorry for this attack, which led to the martyrdom and injury of a large number of young officers, and we expect international institutions, especially the UN Security Council, to assume their responsibilities regarding this terrorist attack.

President Raisi pointed out that the ongoing terrorist attacks in Syria during the past months is due to the continued intelligence, security and logistical support for terrorists in order to prevent stability and security in the country.

The Iranian President underlined that the responsibility for this tragic incident lies with the foreign supporters of terrorist groups, including occupiers of Syrian territories who prevent Syria from practicing its national sovereignty over its lands and effective combat against terrorism.

This criminal act demonstrated that those who oppose security, stability and development in the region are continuing their terrorist and brutal approach that the Syrian people have suffered from, he pointed out.

President Raisi concluded his cable with the condolence from President al- Assad, the government, the army, and the people of Syria, praying to God Almighty speedy recovery for the wounded.
