Damascus, SANA- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, discussed with Tunisian Ambassador in Damascus, Mohamed Al-Mahdhabi, on Wednesday the relations of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education and scientific research and the prospects for their development.
Dr. Ibrahim indicated the importance of the Syrian-Tunisian relations and the need to open new horizons of cooperation between the two countries in all fields, particularly in the field of higher education and scientific research, and developing and activating the scientific and research executive program in the field of exchanging scholarships, joint scientific visits, and exchanging experiences between Syrian and Tunisian universities.
The Higher Education Minister briefed in the Tunisian side on the system of higher education, scientific research centers and bodies in Syria, in addition to the stages of their development.
In turn, the Tunisian Ambassador praised the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Syrian universities and their alumni’s role in achieving remarkable achievements on the Arab and foreign levels, pointing out to the importance of exchanging views and ideas, strengthening scientific and cultural ties between them.
