Russia  expresses concerns over Israeli escalation in Jenin

Moscow, SANA-Russia expressed its deep concern over the Israeli occupation’s escalation of its aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied Palestinian territories which caused the death of 12 Palestinians and the injury of 1,400.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its official website Wednesday that the current escalation doesn’t only create additional obstacles to finding a political settlement to the Palestinian cause, but also poses a serious threat on regional stability as a whole.

The Foreign Ministry warned against any further delay by the international community as it causes an irreversible deterioration of the situation on the ground and the undermining of the legal framework for settling the Palestinian cause in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.

The Ministry renewed Russia’s firm and unchangeable stance towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
