Damascus, SANA-Means of boosting Syria’s position on the football map and efforts to lift the ban on Syrian stadiums were the focus of discussion during President Bashar al-Assad’s meeting on Tuesday with President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
In the presence of head of the General Sports Federation, Firas Mualla, and Chairman of Syrian Football Federation, Salah al-Din Ramadan, Sheikh Salman talked about the efforts exerted by the Asian Football Confederation in cooperation with the Syrian side to provide logistical support to the Syrian football stadiums, and to help lift the ban imposed on them for years.
Sheikh Salman affirmed the Asian Football Confederation’s readiness to provide all kinds of support to the Syrian teams, including logistical support, through the funds available to the federation, which belong to the Syrian Football Association.
At the end of the meeting, the AFC President expressed his thanks and appreciation to President al-Assad for his reception and his constant interest in developing the future of Syrian sports.
