Syrian-Iraqi talks on the judicial and legal field

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Justice, Ahmad al-Sayyed, discussed with President of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, Faeq Zaidan, prospects for enhancing joint cooperation in the judicial and legal field.

Both sided discussed during the session held on Thursday drawing up a judicial cooperation agreement between the two countries in many affairs, of which the civil, criminal and personal status matters along with extradition of criminals and liquidation of estates.

The discussion also touched upon the requirements for developing scientific aspects in the judicial field in terms of benefiting from all experiences in the scope of legislation related to judicial work, in addition to exchanging between the Higher Judicial Institute in Syria and the Judicial Institute in Iraq.

At the end of the session, the two sides stressed the necessity of continuing coordination and bilateral consultation to develop a joint action mechanism.
