The West politicizes humanitarian catastrophes including quake in Syria, says Uhrík

Bratislava, SANA- Member of the European Parliament, Head of the Slovak Republic Party, Milan Uhrík, has slammed the West’s politicization of humanitarian disasters, and the double standards it adopts regarding the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that jolted Syria and Turkey.

“Turkey is not the only one that needs help now due to the effects of the earthquake, but also Syria,” Uhrík said on his Facebook page.

He called for leaving politics aside, and giving priority to the humanitarian issues over everything else.

Syria suffers greatly as a result of the meaningless Western sanctions that are imposed on it only because it does not want to accept the occupation and Western hegemony, Uhrík noted.
