Syria, Egypt discuss ways of boosting educational cooperation

Damascus, SANA- the Arab educational cooperation and the role of teachers in building thought, citizenship and belonging, along with the reality of education and the plan for its development in Syria and Egypt were discussed by Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa and Head of the Egyptian Teachers Syndicate Khalaf Al-Zinati.

Tabbaa stressed the role of teachers in the Arab world in strengthening the Arabic language and their influence in preserving Arab civilization and heritage, building thought, transferring experiences, in addition to the importance of developing joint curricula.

He called for holding an Arab conference for teachers to discuss the transformation in education.

The ministry, despite the difficulties imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, continues to work on developing curricula and focusing on human and moral values and life skills, in addition to paying attention to securing education for all children, Tabbaa noted.

In turn, Al-Zinati stressed the distinguished relations between the teachers of the two countries, pointing out that education in Egypt targets more than 2 million children in the pre-university stage.

Al-Zinati called for continuous coordination of visits between Syrian and Egyptian teachers, and work to overcome educational challenges through research and joint cooperation.
