New York, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, has discussed with President of the General Assembly of the United Nations Csaba Kőrösi the latest developments in the situation in Syria, and the challenges it faces, especially the fight against terrorism.
Minister Mikdad congratulated Kőrösi on his new position, wishing him success and stressing Syria’s readiness to coordinate and cooperate with him on issues related to his mandate.
He reviewed the challenges facing Syria, especially completing its battle against terrorism, confronting the impacts of the unilateral coercive measures and the continuation of the Turkish and American occupation of Syrian territories.
The two sides discussed issues on the agenda of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 77), where Kőrösi expressed aspiration to work closely with the Syrian side on these issues.
