Damascus, SANA- Jarih al-Watan (Wounded of the Homeland) program announced that 123 of the homeland’s wounded and nine ones from the special sports will participate in the competitions of the second Paralympic games for the wounded of the homeland due to be held in October after they had passed the Paralympic sport tests.
Jarih al-Watan project posted on its Facebook page that the wounded athletes have met the Paralympic and time standards, distributed among all games, including 20 athletes in badminton, 18 ones in swimming ,47 in physical strength, 13 in table tennis, 18 in athletics and 23 in basketball .
The project pointed out that all the wounded participating in the tests were subjected to the conditions of special sports, which is that the athletes must have amputations, complete or incomplete paralysis, and complete or almost complete blindness, in addition to achieving times set by the Special Sports Federation based on local numbers and the results of the First Wounded of the Homeland Sports Games.
