Guterres: Obstacles facing Russian foodstuffs and fertilizer exports should be eleminated

New York, SANA – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the necessity to work on eliminating obstacles facing Russian exports of foodstuffs and fertilizer.

“In regard with the Russian foodstuffs and fertilizer exports, which we are seeing an essential tool in facing the fertilizer market crunch, we are exerting all efforts to create the suitable conditions to eliminate all obstacles that still exist in facing these exports,” Guterres told Sputnik agency in statements.

The UN chief expressed his hope that there will be a positive change in terms of the possibility of the access of Russian grain and fertilizers to international markets without any obstacles.

He also pointed out to his intention to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings this week to discuss some issues related to food, fertilizers and the grain export agreement.
