Syrian-made garments exhibition to be held in Beirut after success in Baghdad

Beirut, SANA – 120 apparel companies are to participate in the activities of the Syrian-made garments exhibition (Syria Mod for Spring-Summer 2015) to be held on Monday in Beirut with aspirations of gaining more success.

Damascus Chamber of Industry Secretary Firas al-Jajeh told journalists that this is the second exhibition the Chamber participates in supporting and organizing for this year, being a sequence of previous rounds of the exhibition that have been held during the past two years.

Al-Jajeh pointed to the importance of this economic activity for having achieved high turnouts by Arab countries during the previous round held in Baghdad and leading to signing new contracts as it was “a main factor in promoting for the Syrian garments”.

“The companies taking part in Syria Mod will get a support of what is estimated at 50% out of the participation cost,” al-Jajeh said, adding that the exhibition came just a few days after a previous that was held in Baghdad.

Contracts worth USD 100 million were signed between Syrian and Iraqi businessmen during the activities of “Syria Mod Baghdad” which attracted high turnout.
The exhibition is organized by Association of Syrian Exporters of Clothing and Textile in cooperation with Damascus Chamber of Industry, Syrian Exporters Union, and Exports Development Commission.
