The 18th Int’l Conference on Syria in Astana format starts activities in Nur-Sultan

Nur-Sultan, SANA- The 18th Int’l Conference on Syria in the Astana format started activities in the Kazakh Capital, Nur-Sultan, and it will last for two days.

The Syrian Arab Republic delegation to the conference is headed by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Ayman Sousan, while the Russian delegation is headed by Alexander Lavrentiev, the Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria, and the Iranian Islamic Republic delegation is headed by Senior Assistant to Foreign Minister in Special Political Affairs Ali-Asghar Khaji, in addition to other delegations.

The meeting will be also attended by a UN delegation headed by Robert Dann, Chief of Political Affairs in the office of the UN Special Envoy for Syria and representatives of the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in addition to representatives of the International Committee of Red Cross.

The conference’s agenda includes discussing issues related to the economic, social and humanitarian conditions in Syria.

The 17th international meeting on Syria in the Astana format was held on the 21st and 22nd of last December in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan.
