10 ambulances for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent from WHO

Damascus, SANA- Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) received on Thursday 10 ambulances provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), in order to support its efforts and strenghten the humanitarian and medical services it provides.

“The cars were provided on the occasion of World Health Day and as part of the joint efforts between the two organizations to support emergency health care provided to citizens and the Emergency Humanitarian Response Plan.”, the Red Crescent stated in a statement to SANA reporter.

Head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization, Khaled Haboubati, who attended the handover with the representative of the WHO, Dr. Akjmal Magtymova, hailed the long history of cooperation between the Red Crescent and the WHO, which is concerned with saving life and providing health to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups in light of the current global health crisis.

The World Health Day is celebrated annually on the 7th of April, as this year’s celebration, according to the WHO, focuses on the urgent measures needed to preserve the health of people and the planet and to promote a movement to create health-focused societies.
