Cold weather prevails, snow expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will drop to become from 5 to 10 degrees below average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by cold polar air mass in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Friday bulletin that the weather will be partly cloudy to rainy, heavy rainfall will be accompanied by thunder on the coastal region, as snow is also expected to fall over mountains that exceed 1100 m.

The winds will be westerly to southwesterly of moderate in speed with active gusts exceeding 95 kilometers per /h, in eastern regions and al-Badia, and the sea waves will be high in amplitude.

The expected temperature degrees in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 9 / 3, Homs 6 / 2, Hasaka 8 / 0, Lattakia 13 / 8, Aleppo 8 / 0 and Hama 7 / 3.
