Al-Baath Party, Cuban Communist Party underline necessity of cooperation to face common challenges

Havana, SANA- Syria and Cuba underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation and consultation between them in light of the current circumstances.

That came during a session of virtual talks chaired by Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah, member of the central leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, and Jorge Luis Brucchi Lorenzo, member of the General Secretariat of the Cuban Communist Party.

Both sides reiterated the necessity to increase coordination and consultation between their leaderships to face the common challenges.

Lorenzo highlighted the strength of relations between Syria and Cuba, expressing his great gratitude for the solidarity and support of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party and youth organizations in Syria for Cuba’s struggle against the criminal American blockade imposed on it.

Both countries have been subjected to repeated attacks by global imperialism, but they will not give up their rights, sovereignty and independence, Lorenzo noted

For his part, Dr. Dakhlallah indicated al- Baath Party attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with friendly parties in the world, adding that relations with the Cuban Communist Party have never been severed.

Dakhlallah expressed the party leadership’s gratitude for Cuba’s supportive stances for Syria at international forums, and in its war against terrorism, affirming once again Syria’s condemnation of the unjust US blockade imposed on Cuba for six decades.

The session was attended by Dr. Idris Maya, Syrian Ambassador to Cuba, and Miguel Porto Barga, Cuban Ambassador in Damascus
