Aleppo, SANA- locals of Ayn al-Arab continue to defend their city against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization, with the locals reclaiming control over two villages in the area surrounding the city, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.
Local sources said that people of Ayn al-Arab regained control over Mamid village northwest of the city after heavy clashes with ISIS terrorists, resulting in the killing of 12 terrorists and capturing a tank and a car equipped with a heavy machine gun.
The locals also regained control over Tarmak village which is located in the area between Mashta Noor hill and the Aleppo-Ayn al-Arab Highway.
As they advanced through the city, popular defense groups regained control over the Sharia School and the area east and north of it along with Sydan mosque.
The defenders of ayn al-Arab also regained control of Mashta Noor hill inside the city, which made ISIS supply routes from Aleppo and Raqa within their firing range.
Since September 16 2014, Ayn al-Arab has been witnessing heavy clashes between the townspeople and ISIS terrorists who carried out vicious attacks in an attempt to control the city. Hundreds of terrorists have been killed during the clashes.
