Beirut, SANA – Nine people were killed and more than 35 were injured in two terrorist suicide bombings which targeted a café in Jabal Mohsen area in Tripoli, Lebanon.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said that a suicide bomber carried out an attack at Omran café in Jabal Mohsen, and another suicide bomber carried out the second attack in the same area while people were gathering to remove the bodies and help the injured, claiming nine lives and injuring more than 35 people.
Following the two attacks, Northern Lebanon Governor Ramzi Nahra imposed a curfew in Jabal Mohsen and its surroundings until 7 am on Sunday, while the Lebanese army established a security perimeter around the café. Eyewitnesses said that the body of at least one of the suicide bombers is still in the site.
The Syrian government strongly condemned the terrorist attack, offering condolences to the victims’ families and wishing the injured a quick recovery, asserting that national unity is the best way to confront terrorism.
