Tokyo, SANA- With participation of Syria’s Para sports team, Tokyo Paralympics tournament was inaugurated on Tuesday in the Japanese capital ,Tokyo.The tournament will last until September 5th .
About 4400 athletes participate and compete in 22 sports including two new ones which are badminton and taekwondo while most other sports are common between the Olympics and the Para sports games like the athletics and swimming.
Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games were postponed for one year in light of the strict measures to contain coronavirus. The tournament hosted by Japan comes two weeks after Tokyo Summer 2020 Olympics.
