Syria, Iran to enhance economic, investment joint projects

Tehran, SANA- Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance, Ali Tayebnia discussed Saturday with Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud ways to establish joint investment projects in oil, phosphate, cement, energy, agriculture and transport sectors.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the potential participation of Iranian companies in the reconstruction process in Syria as to improve services and standard of living for the Syrian people and achieve mutual interests.

Minister Tayebnia affirmed the Iranian constant and steady desire to continue economic support to Syria and provide it with the basic needs for carrying out more achievements in combating terrorism and restoring security and stability to the country.

 The Minister said that the Iranian government works with tangible steps to expand economic and trade relations and establish joint projects in the vital sectors between the two states.

 “Syria pays the price of its stances and support to resistance against the Zionist entity,” Minister Tayebnia added.

 In turn, the Syrian Ambassador said Syria welcomes the Iranian companies’ participation in the investment projects, reconstruction and offers all required facilitations to launch the new projects.

 He referred to the common will of Syria and Iran to “translate the strategic relations into their economic dimension” to benefit from the huge capabilities in all investment sectors.

 Ambassador Mahmoud thanked Iran for its unlimited support to the Syrian people.
