Vienna, SANA-Syria’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ambassador Hassan Khaddour, said that Syria has cooperated with the international organization and met its legal obligations according to the treaty of comprehensive Safeguards and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement.
“Israel, with all its possessions of nuclear potentials, remained outside the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, and this represents a grave danger to the Non-Proliferation system… its rejection, as well, of all initiatives to make the Middle East a zone free of Nuclear Weapons poses threat to stability and security of the region,” Ambassador Khaddour added in a speech at IAEA session of Board of Governors in Vienna.
The Ambassador added that the continued cooperation between the IAEA and Iran according to the agreed upon procedures facilitates the full and active implementation of the two sides.
