Damascus, SANA – The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held on Tuesday a farewell ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus for the former Russian Ambassador in Damascus Azmatullah Kolmohammadov on the occasion of ending his diplomatic mission in Syria.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad awarded Kolmohammadov the Syrian Order of Merit as a gesture of appreciation for his huge efforts to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Our job and the job of all ambassadors, in the framework of our duties to consolidate our countries’ relations, help make the world a better place for the present and the future,” Mikdad said in a speech during the ceremony.
He pointed out that Syrian leadership and people are highly appreciative of the work of the ambassador.
On his part, Kolmohammadov affirmed that Syria will emerge victorious in its battle against terrorism and that the Syrian people will live in peace, hailing the level of relations between the Russian Embassy and the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry as a model example of how international relations should be.
