Peskov: The West, Arab states should abandon policy of isolating Syria, resume dialogue

Moscow, SANA-Russian Presidential Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov has called on the West and the Arab states to abandon the policy of isolating Syria, and to resume dialogue with it.

In statement to journalists in Moscow on Tuesday, Peskov said “The more countries that will directly resume dialogue with Syria, the greater the reason for their active participation in the necessary political settlement process.”

Peskov asserted that his country will continue the efforts within the framework of the political settlement process of the crisis in Syria, particularly the work of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution.”

He added that there are differences between Russia and the Turkish regime with regard to the situation in Syria, saying “The situation in the areas where interaction takes place is still very difficult … because the terrorist elements are still present and that prevents us from achieving stability in the situation there, but despite this, there are differences between us about Syria.”
