Damascus, SANA- With the aim of promoting the Syrian cuisine and its role in attracting tourists, Ministry of Tourism has organized an exhibition for oriental food at Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel with the participation of a number of hotels and restaurants.
“The oriental meals are one of the main factors of enhancing tourism in Syria and they constitute a basic part of the international heritage,” Minister of Tourism Bishir Yazaji said.
The exhibition will provide meals for people in need and martyrs’ families according to a certain timetable, Yazaji added, indicating that the exhibition reflects the partnership between governmental and private bodies.
For his part, Chairman of Tourism Chambers Federation Rami Martini said the exhibition reflects the recovery in catering sector which seeks to provide a good service in spite of all the difficult circumstances.
Director of Damascus Tourism Department Mai al-Sulh said that the exhibition will provide food baskets for families of the martyred and wounded army personnel and for the families at the temporary housing centers.
