Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad and President Vladimir Putin of Russia exchanged on Wednesday cables of congratulation on the occasion of the New Year, in which the two sides affirmed the development of bilateral relations in the interests of the two countries.
President al-Assad extended to President Putin and the friendly Russian people the warmest and heartfelt congratulations and best wishes that the new year brings more success and progress for the Russian Federation at all levels.
The President also expressed aspiration that the new year will be a year during which the two countries, through their joint efforts, can gain more achievements in combating terrorism and continue to boost bilateral relations in all fields in the interest of the peoples in the two friendly countries.
In turn, President Putin hoped that the coming year would bring stability to the entire Syrian territory and more successes in the development of the country.
President Putin affirmed his country’s readiness to contribute, by all means , to realising a final settlement for the crisis in Syria and overcome its impacts, as well as to work together to further enhance Russian-Syrian multiple cooperation.
