Aleppo, SANA- The cultural reconstruction process began in Aleppo city with the announcement of its victory over terrorism and the dark thought that tried to put out the torch of knowledge in the city by targeting and sabotaging the cultural platforms and centers in the countryside and the city.
The restoration and rehabilitation works included a number of institutions and sites that were damaged by terrorist acts against the country, including the restoration of the Directorate of Culture and the National Book House.
Upon the visit of the government team to Aleppo this year, an amount of nearly one billion Syrian pounds was allocated to the Ministry of Culture to restore the theater of As-Safira city and rehabilitate Culture Palace in Aleppo.
Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture Department in Aleppo told that the cultural activity in the city witnessed an accelerated return with the participation of intellectuals, writers and poets, which prompted the Ministry of Culture to name Aleppo as “the capital of Syrian culture in 2019”, pointing out to the reopening of the folk culture institutes, Sabah fakhri of music.
