Damascus, SANA- The Farmers General Union has affirmed that the Syrian framers will remain the builders of the homeland who contribute to its renaissance, and who reinforce its stability and resilience.
In a statement on the 56th anniversary of the Farmers Day, Chairman of the Union noted that this occasion comes this year while the features over defeating Takfiri terrorism and its backers have reflected on every inch of the Syrian territories thanks to the solidarity of the Syrian people, army and leadership and the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army.
He added that the resilience of the farmers and their limitless giving, particularly throughout the years of the war despite of what they have faced of challenges, have conveyed a brilliant image on their confidence in Syria’s victory in the fierce war waged against it.
Chairman of the Union asserted that the Farmers Day has significant connotations, the most important of which is that it came as a fruit of a long and relentless struggle against the regimes of oppression and feudalism till the farmers obtained all their rights, and the agriculture flourished and developed till it reached the stage of achieving food security in Syria, and providing a surplus in the production to support its economy.
He underlined the importance of cultivating wheat and investing every inch of the land to make this year, the year of wheat in all sense of the word and to achieve the participatory approach to provide the requirements of the production and upgrading the agricultural sector.
He also highlighted the importance of the family farming and the small and medium enterprises, in addition to working on finding productive cooperatives that will be the nucleus of the cooperative work in the province, and empowering the rural women.
The Union reiterated loyalty to the homeland and that the farmers will remain the fortress that will foil all the conspiracies and the ones who build the homeland.
