Global coronavirus death toll passes a million and 262 thousand

Capitals, SANA- The novel coronavirus “COVID-19” has claimed the lives of 1, 262,168 people worldwide since its appearance last December, according to the American Worldometers website.

The website added that the total number of the global coronavirus infections has reached up to 5, 740, 558, while the recoveries have amounted to 35, 796,914.

In Mexico, the Health Ministry on Sunday announced the registration of 5,887 infections, and 219 new deaths as the total number of infections reached 967,825, and the deaths has climbed to 95,027.

While in Germany, the data of Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed an increase in the number of infections as they reached up to 671,868 after recording 13,363 new cases while the total number of fatalities has amounted to 11,352 after registering 63 deaths.

In China, the National Health Committee announced recording 33 infections, one of them is local, while the others came from abroad while the number hasn’t changed and it is still 4,634.

South Korea has recorded 126 new infections for the second day in a row bringing the total number of infections in the country to 27,553, while two deaths have been confirmed as the fatalities amounted to 480.
