Patriarch Yazigi calls for work on realizing peace in Syria

New York, SANA- Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi called for consolidating means of dialogue and rejecting extremism and all ideologies that are not related to the history and reality of the Levant countries.

During a sermon at Brooklyn’s St. Nicholas Cathedral, Patriarch Yazigi reiterated the call for realizing peace in Syria and stability in Lebanon, affirming that the Christians will stay in the homeland regardless of the circumstances.

Patriarch Yazigi is paying a pastoral visit  to the US to participate in the ceremony of assignment of Bishop Joseph Zahlawi as Metropolitan of the Diocese of New York and the rest of North America.

During the visit Yazigi  gave interviews to a number of US mass media in which he conveyed the true image about what is going on in the Middle East to the American people and the international community.
