Lattakia, SANA-Firefighting teams, Civil Defense and Forestry Department of the Agricultural Directorate, in addition to the locals unified all efforts to control fires that erupted since Thursday midnight and extended to wide areas of forest and agricultural lands in Lattakia countryside.
A firefighter driver in Forestry Department of Lattakia Agriculture Directorate pointed out that the extension of fires among the houses in Ballouran village was one of the most difficult challenges they faced as the team worked on securing a safe exit of the citizens and help them to reach the nearest safe point.
He expressed regret for the martyrdom of his colleague while he was doing his national duty in protecting citizens and their properties .
A member of the firefighting brigade team of industrial city of Adra clarified that they headed towards Lattakia to support their colleagues to extinguish the fires which erupted in the province, hailing the locals cooperation to extinguish the fires.
Lattakia Ambulance System expressed full readiness to provide emergency and assistance to citizens and to admit injuries to hospitals, adding that they are ready on the hour.
