Sweida, SANA – Sweida province produced about 17,981 tons of barley for the current season through the cultivated areas amounted to be about 18,869 hectares.
Assistant Director of Sweida Agricultural Department, Eng. Alaa Shaheb told SANA reporter that production is good due to favorable weather conditions for growing this crop and the barley crop is concentrated in western Sweida countryside and Shahba and al- Qrayya areas.
He pointed out that the revenue is good because it depends on rainfall in addition to the economic feasibility which is achieved by the farmers.
Sweida production of barley in the last season amounted to 18,433 tons.
