Syrian-Iraqi talks on enhancing cooperation and coordination in international circles

Baghdad, SANA- Syrian Ambassador to Iraq Sattam Jadaan al-Dandah discussed with Head of the International Organizations and Conferences Department at Iraqi Foreign Ministry Rahman al-Amiri the bilateral relations between Syria and Iraq and means of enhancing cooperation and coordination in the international circles and multilateral meetings.

The two sides dealt with Iraq’s support to Syria’s stance towards the US-western project scheduled to be discussed during the meeting of the 94th session of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons’(OPCW) Executive Council and the first report of the so-called Investigation and Identification Team (IIT).

Al-Dandah stressed the importance of confronting attempts to politicize the work of international organizations and exploit them to target the countries of the region, undermine their sovereignty and subject them to suspicious agendas that serve the interests of the western countries and the Israeli occupation entity.

For his part, al-Amiri reiterated Iraq’s firm stance in rejecting any international resolutions that could harm Syria’s sovereignty and stability, asserting the importance of consultation and cooperation between the two countries, as well as coordinating stances in all international circles and organizations in the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
