Damascus, SANA_ From Damascus, the capital for peace, a musical evening by the Chamber Choir of the High Institute of Music of Damascus at the Khan Assad Basha, in old Damascus city.
This activity was one of several activities organized by the Syrian Ministry of Culture with the title “The culture at your home”.
This concert had also a special message of love and peace through music to al-Quds (Jerusalem) “the flower of the cities.” The choir accompanied by the orchestra and conducted by Maestro Missak Baghboudarian, presented classical and Arabic traditional pieces with an impressive artistic performance of high professional quality.
The Syrian opera singer Souzan Haddad and the Bouzoq soloist Mohamad Osman were special guests on this concert as soloists.
The event was broadcast live on the official website of the Ministry of Culture and its YouTube channel, and included a special film dedicated to the Syrian doctors who died in Italy while treating patients infected with the novel coronavirus.
“It is important to link music to the place historically and this is why we chose Khan Asaad Basha since it gives a natural echo to the sounds and harmony of the choir and the orchestra,” maestro Baghboudarian told SANA. “Music is a necessity in our lives, especially in times of crisis because it provides positive energy.” He concluded.
