Oil minister calls on Chinese companies to join rehabilitation of oil and gas sectors

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Sulaiman al-Abbas discussed on Thursday with the Chinese Ambassador in Syria Wang Qi Jian prospects for promoting mutual cooperation in the petroleum and gas sectors.

The minister called on the Chinese companies to invest in the country, pointing out that the Chinese companies are committed to their contracts despite the difficult conditions in Syria and the challenges due to the unfair EU sanctions against Syria.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador confirmed the possibility of creating a variety of opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The Ambassador added that the Chinese Embassy is encouraging the Chinese companies to invest in Syria, particularly in oil and gas sectors.
