Managua, SANA – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari on Friday presented his credentials to President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega as non-resident ambassador extraordinary of Syria.
During their meeting at the Presidential Palace in the capital Managua, al-Jaafari relayed to President Ortega the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad and his appreciation for the positions of the President and people of Nicaragua on the bilateral and international levels.
He also expressed Syria’s solidarity with Nicaragua in the face of foreign conspiracies.
For his part, President Ortega relayed via ambassador al-Jaafari a message of solidarity to President al-Assad and the Syrian people, noting that the two countries face the same enemy but in different forms, asserting his commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In a speech after receiving the credentials of several ambassadors including al-Jaafari, President Ortega said Syria is now closer to victory than ever before, denouncing the hostile and interfering policy of the United States against Nicaragua and other Latin American countries.
