Nebenzia: Western states reject to participate in reconstruction in Syria under flimsy pretexts

New York, SANA- Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia affirmed that the Western states reject to participate in the reconstruction in Syria under flimsy pretexts.

Russia Today website quoted Nebenzia after a meeting of the International Security Council on Syria on Monday as saying ” We have noticed in the deliberations of some of our partners that they have proposed new conditions for the reconstruction in Syria and that they have previously said that the only condition is forming the constitutional committee, but now we see new pretexts.”

Earlier, UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen announced during a session of the Security Council that the constitutional committee will hold its first meeting in Geneva on October 30^th.

During the Security Council’s session, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari said that forming the constitutional committee and agreeing on the references and the bases of its work which are owned and led by Syria away from any foreign interference is a national success that overcame all the obstacles put by the hostile states with the aim of prolonging the crises and hindering the political solution.
