Zarif: All countries should respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

New York, SANA- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the necessity that all countries should respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During a meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday, Zarif said that all the foreign troops deployed in Syria without the approval of the Syrian state must pull out.

He reiterated that the acts of aggression launched by the Zionist entity against Syria will further complicate the situation in it, calling on the international community to force the Zionist entity to halt all of its acts of aggression.

Zarif pointed out that the occupied Syrian Golan is a Syrian land and it will remain so, asserting that the US declaration on it is null and illegal .

He reiterated that the only solution to the crisis in Syria is the political solution under the leadership of Syria and in support of the UN organization.

“The Syrians only have the right to decide Syria’s future,” Zarif underlined, adding that “we should facilitate talks among them to reach an agreement on the political solution away from any foreign interference.”

He called for an immediate and safe return for all the displaced Syrians to their homeland and not to politicize their issue.

He stressed the necessity of rebuilding Syria, calling for supporting and not for politicizing this issue, pointing out that Iran through hosting the next meeting of Astana process will provide more support for solving the crisis in Syria .
