Daraa, SANA- The life in Daraa province is returning to normal gradually at various fields, especially in the education sector since it was declared free from terrorism in August 2018.
Speaking to SANA reporter, Head of the Educational Directorate at Daraa, Mohammaed Kheir al-Awdaallah said that the control of the Takfiri terrorist organizations and their practices led to a decrease in the number of schools in the province from 988 to 545 schools.
He added that the education process has steadily improved since the liberation of Daraa province from terrorism, as the number of the schools, which put in service reached 835 schools and the number of the students reached 225,000.
Al-Awdaallah indicated that the Ministry Education rehabilitated 107 schools out of 111 ones , which were fully destroyed by the terrorist groups and it also rehabilitated 363 schools, which were partially destroyed, along with setting up plans and programs to return the students who are dropped out of schools , in addition to rehabilitating them through intensive courses by psychologists and social counselors.
“A total of 7300 students, who dropped out of school, have returned to their schools , in addition to applying Category B curriculum program for those who dropped out of schools for more than a year,” he said.
