Syrian artist awarded Bulgaria’s highest order of ministerial merit

Sofia, SANA_ Syrian artist Bahjat Iskandar was awarded Bulgaria’s highest order of ministerial merit given to a civilian in Bulgaria.

Iskander was awarded the order of merit on the sidelines of his exhibition opened in Sofia.

The exhibition, which was inaugurated  by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov, included forty-five photographs taken in the various Bulgarian cities, castles and heritage sites during a journey of more than two weeks .

The Syrian expatriate artist Iskandar holds a diploma in engineering and has been practicing photography since 1968.

He is a member of Paul Ruscha Photography Club, the Association of Hungarian Photographers, and the Association of Hungarian Journalists.
