President al-Assad grants Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Syrian Order of Merit of Excellent degree

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad awarded the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Syria, Dikran Kevorkian, the Syrian Order of Merit of excellent degree in appreciation of his efforts in developing the Syrian-Armenian relations.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bassam Sabbagh awarded the Ambassador the Order of Merit.

In a speech during the ceremony, Minister Sabbagh described as “historic and friendly” the relation between the two countries and peoples, praising the efforts made by Ambassador Kevorkian during his mission to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Sabbagh appreciated the stances of the Republic of Armenia in support of Syria, especially the humanitarian support provided by the Armenian government after the earthquake that struck Syria in February 2023.

In turn, Ambassador Kevorkian expressed his appreciation for the great honor he received from President Bashar al-Assad by granting him the Syrian Order of Merit, expressing his pride in the work he did to serve and boost his country’s relations with Syria.
