After 4 years of hiatus, al-Sheikh Maskeen power transmission plant in service

Daraa, SANA_ Technical workshops at the Transportation Establishment and the General Electricity Company in Daraa have managed to put al-Sheikh Maskeen power transmission plant back into service after 4 years of hiatus..

Director General of the General Establishment for Electricity,  Ghassan al-Zamel, told SANA that this achievement will improve the situation of electricity in the province which, in turn, will reflect positively on all aspects  of economic life.

Electricity sector in Daraa suffered  severe damage over the past few years due to the systematic sabotage acts committed by the armed terrorist groups which negatively affected various economic activities in the province as the power supply dropped to the minimum in order to meet basic requirements of hospitals,  water pumping plants and bakeries as well as other service institutions.

He underlined the efforts exerted to rehabilitate the 230 kilo volt transmission line from Dair Ali power plant to al-Sheikh Maskeen plant with a total cost of SYP 200 million while the other power transmission line connects between al-Kisweh  and al-Sheikh Maskeen.

Al-Zamel noted that it took 2 months  to accomplish the mission.
