Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Imad Khamis on Friday chaired a meeting at the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to discuss the legislations regulating the Ministry and its establishments, and steps to evaluate its performance.
Several decisions were taken during the meeting, covering a number of issues on regulating the purchase, marketing, and transport of grains, revising the distribution of bread production facilities according to actual need, and curbing the smuggling of flour, in addition to setting up a quality control mechanism for locally-produced and exported goods, revising the distribution of gas stations, and reevaluating the performance of Syrian Trading establishment.
Premier Khamis stressed the important role of the Ministry as it is closely tied to the daily lives of citizens, and the current stage requires exceptional efforts to provide citizens’ needs.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Interior, and directors at the Ministry of Trade.
