Damascus, SANA – Wadi Qandil and Ras al-Bassit areas are among the most beautiful tourist destinations in Lattakia province. They offer a promising and attractive investment environment in light of its fascinating natural scenes and the availability of services.
Within Tourism Ministry’s new vision to promote and activate tourism movement across Syria, engineering and legal teams affiliated to the Ministry are conducting field tours to these two areas in order to set up a successful spatial plan and prepare the region for touristic investment project.
Head of Tourism Development and Investment department at the Ministry, Saad Eddin Ahmed, noted that the projects include the establishment of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels, a luxury hotel and a full-service shop in Wadi Qandil area, in addition to providing various beach services with the aim of fulfilling tourists’ requirements.
He pointed out that the Tourism Directorate of Lattakia, in cooperation with concerned bodies in the governorate and Ministry of Finance, has commenced work on issues related to cadastral surveying and accurate study of networks and infrastructure, adding that the attractive and charming natural areas have been maintained with the aim of achieving the integration between tourism services and products.
Ahmed indicated that 6 sites have been selected to establish luxury hotels in complementarity to the beach and panoramic spectacular views at the backdrop, noting that this gradual expansion would increase investment opportunities and service projects yielding a positive impact on local community and contribute to tourism booming in the region.
