Damascus, SANA – Damascus Old City restaurants located in its ancient neighborhoods of Bab Sharqi , al-Qeimariya, al-Amara, Bab Touma, al-Qashla and al-Amin have always been a glamorous tourist destination for visitors seeking a unique city experience. 
Many of the old houses in the old city have been converted into restaurants which offer a wide selection of delicious dishes that capture the original flavors and exquisite tastes of Damascene food.
Visitors can feel the aura of Damascene houses that have so much history and filled with the smell of Jasmine hanging on its old walls and contemplate the beautiful scenes of al-Bahra, a small fountain in the middle of the house, al-Mashrabiyah and floral ornaments while dining.
Syrian expatriate in Mexico, Hiba Maghrebi said that she is determined to spend her time at one of the old city restaurants whenever she visits Syria as the ancient neighborhoods gave her a feeling of safety and longing for the old times.
Owner of a restaurant in Bab Touma, Manar Ma’arawi told SANA that the calm and relaxing ambiance encourages guests to come and enjoy time with family and friends.
