Al-Moallem, Lavrov discuss latest developments, coordination in combating terrorism

Moscow, SANA- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem will hold a session of official talks in the Russian capital of Moscow on Thursday afternoon with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The talks will focus on the latest developments of the situations in Syria and the region and the coordination and consultation between the two sides in their joint battle for combating terrorism, in addition to the exerted efforts for the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland.

Minister al-Moallem, who chairs the Syrian side at the Governmental Syrian-Russian Joint Committee for Economic, Trade and Technical-Scientific Cooperation, is scheduled to meet his counterpart, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov on Friday, who chairs the Russian side at the committee.

Talks during the meeting will focus on discussing relations of bilateral cooperation in all domains.

Earlier al-Moallem arrived in an official visit to Moscow upon an invitation by Lavrov.
