Moscow, SANA- Spokesman for the Russian Presidency Dmitry Peskov reiterated that the crisis in Syria will be one of the main topics that will be discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump during their summit on Monday at the Finnish capital of Helsinki.
“Exchanging viewpoints on Syria between Putin and Trump might be a difficult issue due to the US stance towards Iran which Moscow considers as a partner in the commercial and economic cooperation and the political dialogue,” Peskov told Russia Today T.V Channel.
He noted that President Putin is usually engaged in the political settlement of the crisis in Syria through a complex network of communications that aims at reducing disputes to open the door for the prospects of the political process.
Peskov added that the Russian President has recently received Iranian Supreme Leader’s Top Adviser for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati.
He asserted that Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization had been defeated in Syria, yet some foreign parties are trying to gather the remnants of Daesh and other terrorist organizations in Syria to achieve their own goals.
He added that the Syrian Arab Army will continue its battle against terrorists and this is a natural issue.
