Astana, SANA- The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) stressed that the political solution is the only means for solving the crisis in Syria.

In a press conference at the end of CIS Foreign Ministers meeting in Almaty on Monday, Kazakh Foreign Minister, Khairat Abdel Rahmanov said that the ministers reaffirmed common stance that the crisis in Syria couldn’t be solved but by political and diplomatic measures.

He hailed the pivotal role played by Astana process in settling the situation in Syria.
